New year, new growth
How is it January 10th already? 😳 Happy New Year, dear readers! 2019 will be amazing.
Before we jump into that, though, let me acknowledge what a great year 2018 was. It was made of flowers with thorns mixed in for good measure. If you have followed my blog, you know I started last year searching for work. My work-at-home contract suddenly ended at the beginning of the year and left my family and I in survival mode.
Let me tell you. While I know how to do survival mode, it usually leaves me hyper focused on the one thing that can get me out of it. I would much rather thrive, so I fight the tough times with everything in me. This past year, this meant that I had to yet again put my writing on hold, get back to being employed, and implement ways to avoid a similar experience in the future.
Instead of writing and releasing my books in 2018 like 2017 me had wanted, I jumped full swing into freelancing. I started seeking contracts to write, edit, and translate for individuals and businesses of all sizes. This helped me move from survival mode to my happy place - joyfully jumping through life hand-in-hand with my people. I once again realized that as long as I have my tribe by my side, I can face anything.
Thanks to 2018, I am now on track again - doing work I enjoy in a field I am passionate about. I have never been one to make New Years resolutions. I am not about to start now. What I do instead is give the new year my best, never letting any setbacks keep me down for too long. Any goals I do not achieve only make me work harder, think bigger, and do better in general.
2019 is the year of community and growth. I can’t wait to share more stories with you.
